DUA — Import and Export
The Single Administrative Document (DUA) is the official form submitted to Customs to import or export goods. It is mandatory for shipments to the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and for operations with countries outside the EU.
Any vehicle sent to the Canary Islands from the mainland, Ceuta or Melilla requires an export DUA. On arrival in the Canary Islands, an import DUA is also required along with payment of the IGIC (Canary Islands general indirect tax).
Our fee for processing the DUA is 100 € + VAT. On top of this come the applicable customs fees and taxes (IGIC, IPSI, tariffs) depending on the value of the vehicle or goods.
When importing a vehicle to the Canary Islands from the mainland, IGIC is paid at the general rate of 7% on the vehicle's value. If it comes from outside the EU, an import tariff also applies.
