Paternity Benefit
16 weeks of leave paid at 100% of salary. We help you apply for the benefit with Social Security so you don't lose a single day of pay.
What is paternity benefit?
Paternity leave entitles the father or other parent to take 16 weeks off work (extended since 2021), paid at 100% of your regulatory base through Social Security.
It is an individual, non-transferable right, independent of maternity leave. It must be formally requested from Social Security before or immediately after the birth, adoption or fostering takes place.
- · 6 mandatory weeks immediately after the qualifying event

- · Later periods must be notified at least 15 days in advance
- · Employees registered with Social Security
- · Self-employed workers (RETA) up to date with contributions
- · Both parents (including same-sex couples)
